The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI) cares for older Freemasons and their families as well as some people in the community. Caring has been their way of life since 1842 and they provide a home for over 1,000 people across England and Wales – while supporting many more.
The RMBI website acts as a source of information for both existing and potential residents and although the old site contained all the information that they needed, it was not easy to find. The site had grown over time and as such content was spread across the site and not always placed in the most logical places. The site was also very difficult to use in terms of navigation and also on mobile devices.
The RMBI had also recently completed a rebrand and part of the brief was to deliver a website in keep with the new brand style.
Oyster built a digital tool for the RMBI, working intelligently for both visitors and RMBI team members. The site delivers content responsively, rendering perfectly on mobile devices and desktops. It also has lots of usability tools built in to allow the user to customise their experience and quickly find and navigate to the information that they need. Oyster conducted expensive user planning with the RMBI team, carefully considering the needs of key audience groups and ensuring they can find the resources they need.
The site also has a jobs management system which allows HR to post jobs to the site and receive applications directly through the site.
