Hill House was founded in 1949 by the grandfather of William Townend, the current Head Teacher. The school was originally started as an international school to give children from around the world the chance of a British education. The school is based in Knightsbridge, London but also has a location in Switzerland that offers great opportunities for the pupils. Among the school's notable alumni are Prince Charles and Lily Allen.

Hill House School engaged Oyster to design and build their new school website to provide a fresh, balanced and modern look that reflects the school’s wonderful ethos, facilities and education.

Our Approach

We worked up a fresh UX design style that balanced the prestige and history of the school with a modern look & feel. Working with Hill House, we developed initial visuals sharing via Adobe XD that allows online discussion and comments. The UX design gives the school a friendly, approachable and unique presence that reflects their brand position and character.

Our developers built the responsive website using Drupal 9 with bespoke functionality tailored to Hill House.

Oyster content loaded the website to help Hill House meet tight timescales, using new images & copy as well as transitioning articles and newsletters from the old site to the new one.

We have enjoyed training Hill House staff to use the site’s easy but extensive CMS, allowing them to upload and manage content, add images, menu items, new pages and enjoy great flexibility whilst the website takes care of the design look and feel, so the brand stays in place.

The website is now live, being used by both visitors & staff.
