The brief

Asthma UK came to Oyster to discuss their bi-annual retention mailing newsletter. They wanted to reinforce their achievements, show the impact that their work has on the lives of asthma sufferers and the progress their research is making. Equally importantly they needed to turn the publication into a profit making exercise, turning a net cost into valuable funds.

The solution

At the initial meeting Oyster discussed the existing communications with Asthma UK and proposed a list of changes to design and copy content that would enhance the newsletter and increase response. Oyster have now produced two newsletters. The first turned in a significant profit changing their initial return on investment (ROI) of 0.58 into a profitable 1.45. The second newsletter increased profits still further by an impressive 95% and gave an ROI of 1.75.

We have enjoyed the process, the key to its success has been transforming the design, calls to action, headline and copy styles and creating a retention newsletter that inspires the reader to action.
